"Staycation": The Finale

Submitted by Linda
Well, our family was having so much fun together that I stopped taking daily "Staycation" pics, so today's post is a compilation of our final 4 days. On the Fourth of July we stayed home and hosted family and friends at our house. It was nice to take a break from our busy days of being 'out and about'. In this pic, my dad and Tommy are making homemade ice cream.
"Staycation: Day 4" was heading out to the Orange County swap meet, and then onto Carlsbad for a couple of nights away. Day 5 was Legoland, which everyone really enjoyed. Here are my boys with Uncle Larry and a lifesize Lego officer.
The highlight for the adults was "miniland" in Legoland. This is just one small portion - the N.Y. city skyline. It's pretty amazing how the tiny people and cars were built to scale.
On Day 6, we drove down to San Diego to take a peek at Seaport Village, Old Town, and the famous and historic Hotel Del Coronado.This bouquet is in the main lobby.
I love glossy white paint and the red roofs!
Well, our faraway family members have gone home, and we are back to our routines here in Claremont. Though I love to travel, I'm feeling good about spending some time at home for the rest of the summer.
