Danny and Amy's Wedding

Submitted by Linda
Last Saturday I was excited to get out of my "2 mile radius" for our friend Danny's wedding in Newport Beach. The picture above was on their invitation. They are a beautiful couple, and it was a privilege to attend their nuptuals.

The wedding was outdoors, with the ocean in site, and the ceremony was beautiful. I think it's fun that there seem to be fewer "etiquette rules" for weddings these days. For this wedding, the guys wore white linen shirts and tan pants, and the bridesmaids wore silver sparkly flip flops with their pretty dresses. Since the setting was near the beach, and the couple fell in love at the beach, they included fun 'beachy' details: This shell was in a large tray of sand- and was used to tell each guest their table assignment for the reception.
The centerpieces were simple, but amazingly pretty. These white flowers were also in the girls' bouquets. I love the detail of the paper quilled #16. And each table had a different photo attached.
The favor was an empty jar with directions to fill it with candy, at this darling "candy bar"!

And last but not least: The dinner was wonderful, but the highlight for many was the "Martini Mashed Potato Bar", where folks could choose from garlic mashed, or yellow mashed, and add sour cream, bacon, cheese, onion, gravy, etc. So clever and yummy!

We had a wonderful time at this memorable event, and are sending our best wishes to the bride and groom. Now we can put these ideas into our "party idea bank" for when it's our turn to plan a wedding!
